Released in 1974, AWB by the Average White Band became one of 

the most successful funk and soul albums of the decade. Often 

referred to as the band's “White Album,” the record introduced 

the world to their signature groove-driven sound and produced

 the international hit “Pick Up the Pieces.”

With powerful horn arrangements, tight rhythm sections, and soulful 

melodies, the album helped establish the Scottish group as one

 of the most respected funk bands of the 1970s.
