Album Overview & Review:

This 1982 Muse LP documents a particularly strong meeting between
 Eddie “Cleanhead” Vinson, one of the important voices of blues and early R&B, 
and Roomful of Blues, whose horn-heavy sound draws on blues, swing and jazz.
 The session gives Vinson an unusually large ensemble with three saxophones,
 trumpet and trombone alongside guitar, piano, bass and drums.

The combination produces a powerful jump-blues and blues-jazz sound, with
 Vinson's vocals and alto saxophone at the center. The repertoire includes
 pieces associated with Lester Young, Earl Bostic and other blues and jazz figures, 
alongside original material.

Roomful of Blues' own historical material identifies the 1982 Vinson collaboration
 as one of the band's important early Muse recordings, while contemporary 
historical documentation notes that the album was among the band's projects
 with major blues artists during this period.
