Timmy Thomas – Why Can't We Live Together, cover lp

Glades  records 1972 – ST-6501

notes:

Why Can't We Live Together is the debut album by Timmy Thomas
released in 1972. It was historically the first record to fully replace
 drummers with a drum machine.
"Why Can't We Live Together" and "Funky Me" were recorded Miami
in August 1972, with the rest of the album recorded in November.
Using the Glades Records studio, Thomas is the sole performer on the recordings.
This LP marked Thomas’s debut as a recording artist and is notable for its minimalist
rhythm-machine‑driven sound, where Thomas himself played organ and bass pedals
alongside early drum machine patterns — a pretty unique approach for the time.
