Lonnie Smith – Mama Wailer (1971)
Kudu records 1971 – KU-02
notes:
Mama Wailer is an album by American jazz organist Lonnie Smith
recorded in 1971 and released on the Kudu label.
The album has only four tracks: two originals by Smith
(Mama Wailer, Hola Muneca) and two reinterpretations of contemporary
pop/funk songs. The long Stand is a deep funk-infused jazz exploration
and takes up the entire second side of the LP.
