Don Covay – See-Saw is a 1966 Atlantic Records soul album
that captures the earthy, rhythmic sound of one of
American R&B’s distinctive voices.
Released as Atlantic SD 8120, the stereo edition features
twelve tracks combining soul, R&B, blues and soul-rock influences.
The title track, “See-Saw,” was written by Don Covay and Steve Cropper
and recorded in Memphis on June 30, 1965. That session featured
Steve Cropper, Donald “Duck” Dunn, Al Jackson, Booker T. Jones,
Wayne Jackson, Andrew Love and Floyd Newman, alongside Covay.
Other tracks originated from sessions in New York and Memphis.

were recorded in New York in January 1965, while “Fat Man”
came from a November 1965 New York session.
The album also includes “Mercy, Mercy,” one of Covay’s best-known early recordings,
