notes:

Released in 1970 on Capitol Records, Jimmy McGriff and Junior Parker
(ST-569) brought together two giants of the soul-blues world.
Hammond organ master Jimmy McGriff had already established
himself as one of the leading figures of soul jazz,
while Junior Parker was renowned for his smooth, expressive
blues vocals and influential recordings dating back to the 1950s.

The album captures the perfect meeting point between blues,
soul, R&B and jazz. McGriff's driving organ grooves provide a
rich backdrop for Parker's warm vocal delivery, creating a sound
that appealed equally to blues fans and soul music audiences.
Recorded during a period when blues artists were increasingly
embracing modern soul influences, the LP remains a fine
example of late-1960s and early-1970s urban blues.

Today, the album is sought after by collectors of blues,
soul and Hammond organ recordings, representing an
important collaboration between two legendary performers
whose careers helped shape modern Black American music.
