Released in 1963, The Big Ones showcases the warm tenor saxophone 
sound of Clifford Scott, one of the most respected yet underrated figures
 in West Coast soul-jazz. Issued by World Pacific Records under catalog 
number WP-1811, the album blends rhythm & blues, jazz standards,
 blues grooves, and popular melodies into an enjoyable listening
 experience that captures the early-1960s jazz scene.
Recorded in Los Angeles during sessions held on March 18 and March 28, 1963,
 the album features Clifford Scott on tenor and alto saxophone,
 Bert Kendrix on organ, and Wayne Robinson on drums. The trio delivers
 relaxed but energetic performances, combining bluesy improvisation
 with catchy melodies and danceable rhythms.
