I've Got A Woman is Jimmy McGriff's debut album for Sue Records
 and one of the defining early recordings of his Hammond-organ style.
 The album grew out of McGriff's instrumental soul-jazz treatment
 of Ray Charles' “I've Got A Woman,” which had first 
appeared as a successful single.

The recording features McGriff in a stripped-down trio with Morris Dow 
on guitar and Jackie Mills on drums. The combination of Hammond organ,
 guitar and drums gives the record its powerful blues, 
gospel and R&B character.

The LP combines standards with McGriff originals, including
 “All About My Girl” and “M.G. Blues.” Other highlights include “
On the Street Where You Live,” “Satin Doll,” “'Round Midnight,” 
“After Hours,” “Flying Home” and “The Sermon.”
