Released in 1969 on Cadet Records (LPS-827), Another Voyage captures 
The Ramsey Lewis Trio during one of its most adventurous musical 
periods. Blending soul jazz, jazz-funk, gospel influences and contemporary
 grooves, the album reflects the trio's transition toward a more electric
 sound while maintaining the sophisticated piano style that made 
Ramsey Lewis one of jazz's most popular artists.

Recorded for Chess Records' Cadet label, the album features imaginative 
arrangements, strong rhythmic interplay and the elegant melodic touch 
that became Ramsey Lewis' trademark throughout the late 1960s.

Following the enormous success of The In Crowd and several 
best-selling Cadet releases, Another Voyage continued Lewis' exploration
 of modern jazz fused with soul and R&B influences, 
anticipating the jazz-funk movement of the early 1970s.
