Released in 1967 on Cadet Records, Goin' Latin finds 
Ramsey Lewis exploring Afro-Cuban and Brazilian influences 
while maintaining the soulful piano style that made him one 
of the most successful jazz artists of the 1960s. Following 
the crossover success of The In Crowd and Wade in the Water, 
Lewis blended infectious Latin grooves with sophisticated 
jazz improvisation, creating an album equally suited for
 jazz listeners and fans of danceable instrumental music.

Produced by the legendary Esmond Edwards for Cadet Records, 
the album features polished arrangements, memorable melodies,
 and rhythmic percussion that reflect the growing influence 
of Latin music on American jazz during the decade. The result
 is an engaging fusion of 
soul jazz, bossa nova, mambo, and hard-swinging Chicago jazz.
