Healin'
Feelin'
Prestige records 1968 – PR 7601
notes:
Richard “Groove” Holmes
was one of the most influential Hammond B-3
players in
soul jazz
history. Born in Camden, New Jersey in 1931,
the American organist became famous for his deep blues feeling,
powerful
bass lines and infectious groove. His breakthrough came in the
early
1960s after recording for
Pacific Jazz, and his soulful 1965 version
of “Misty” became his signature track and a jukebox favorite.
