notes:

Georgie Fame And The Harry South Big Band – Sound Venture
is a 1966 British jazz/R&B album released on Columbia SX 6076.
It marked a move away from Fame's earlier Blue Flames R&B sound
toward sophisticated big-band jazz, with arrangements and
conducting by Harry South. The album was released in
October 1966 and reached No. 9 on the UK Albums Chart.

The sessions brought Fame together with a remarkable group
of British jazz musicians, including Tubby Hayes, Ronnie Scott,
Dick Morrissey, Harry Klein, Gordon Beck, Stan Tracey and Phil Seamen.
Contemporary Beat Instrumental described the Columbia LP as monaural
only and highlighted South's arrangements and the strength of the ensemble.
