A Soul-Jazz Classic from the Hammond B3 Master

Super Soul is a 1967 album by legendary jazz organist Richard “Groove” Holmes,
recorded in Chicago and released on the Prestige label. The album blends
soul-jazz grooves, big-band arrangements and pop-influenced repertoire,
a style that helped Holmes become one of the most recognizable
Hammond organ players of the era
Richard “Groove” Holmes (1931-1991) was a major figure in the soul-jazz
movement, known for his powerful Hammond B-3 sound and his crossover
success with the hit version of “Misty.”
His style mixed blues, gospel and jazz improvisation, making him one
of the most influential organists of the 1960s.
