notes:

Lonesome Traveler is a classic 1966 album by American jazz
pianist Ray Bryant, released on the Cadet label during the
golden era of soul-jazz. Recorded at RCA Studios in New York,
the album features a powerful rhythm section with Freddie
Waits on drums and bassists Richard Davis and Jimmy Rowser,
along with brass contributions from Clark Terry and Snooky Young.
Blending blues feeling, gospel phrasing and hard-bop swing, Bryant
delivers a set that moves effortlessly from standards like “’Round Midnight”
to contemporary pop reinterpretations such as “These Boots Are Made for Walkin’.”
