Session musicians
Unfortunately, no surviving session sheet or AFM contract has surfaced
identifying the musicians on this single. None of the standard
discographical sources list personnel.
Given Alvin Robinson's background as a New Orleans session guitarist and
the musical style, collectors and historians generally believe the backing
band was drawn from New Orleans studio musicians associated with Joe Jones,
but this has never been documented. Any names would therefore be speculative.
Recording studio
Likewise, no recording studio has been positively identified.
The most likely possibilities are:
a New Orleans studio used by Joe Jones during 1964 (possibly Cosimo Matassa's operation),
or a New York session organized after Robinson signed with Tiger Records.
Producer: Joe Jones
"Something You Got" arrangement: Joe Jones
"Searchin'" arrangement: Mike Stoller
Tiger Records was the new label established by the songwriting/production
team of Jerry Leiber and Mike Stoller, although they are not
credited as producers of this particular single.
