Sky High is one of the most distinctive recordings by the
 St. Louis jazz group Quartette Trés Bien. Released by Decca 
in 1965, the album combines soulful piano, acoustic bass, 
drums and African-influenced percussion to create a lively
 blend of jazz, Latin rhythms and popular-song standards.

Led by pianist Jeter Thompson, the quartet developed a 
highly recognizable sound, with Richard Simmons on bass,
 Albert St. James on drums and Percy James on congas and bongos.
 The strong rhythmic emphasis and percussion give the album 
a warm, sophisticated groove that places Sky High comfortably 
within the soul-jazz and Latin-jazz territory of the mid-1960s.
