Released in 1963 on Pacific Jazz, My Mother's Eyes brings together 
the powerful tenor saxophone of Sonny Stitt and the soulful 
Hammond organ of Charles Kynard. Recorded in Los Angeles in May 1963, 
this compact quartet session combines jazz standards, blues-inflected
 themes, and original compositions in a relaxed yet swinging setting.

Stitt, renowned for his exceptional technique and strong bebop vocabulary,
 focuses on tenor saxophone throughout the session. Charles Kynard 
provides a warm, earthy organ sound, while Ray Crawford's guitar and
 Doug Sides' drumming complete the rhythm section.

The album features a mixture of original Sonny Stitt compositions, 
including “Summer Special,” “Stitt In Time,” and “S.O.P. Blues,” alongside
 familiar standards such as “Blue Skies,” “Don't Go to Strangers,” and “Red Top.”
